House of Little Battersea

I'm Claudi, founder of Little Battersea. I craft sustainable, slow fashion for your nursery that's stylish, comfortable, and durable. I believe in the importance of combining style with ethical fashion, as well as fostering equality and protecting the environment. That's why I've partnered with artisans, life coaches, midwives, fashion stylists, and designers to create a unique, high-quality collection of essentials made from sustainable materials. My goal is to help you bring style and luxury into your nursery and the journey of parenthood!

A world transforms

Before I became a mum, getting dressed was my happy ritual — I lived for art gallery openings, London Fashion Week, and my advertising job. Fashion was my way of showing up in the world: confident and a little bit playful.

When I experienced the pure happiness of holding my first newborn, my world transformed. It’s beautiful and disorienting all at once. You give up parts of your old life to make room for this tiny person and find a love you didn’t know existed — and immediately wish someone had handed you an instruction manual.

Family wisdom isn’t always nearby anymore, and the internet’s full of noise. We end up leaning on our partner and friends — the ones who are also figuring it out as they go along.

Slowly, as I learned the rhythms of parenthood, I realised I’d misplaced myself. Shopping felt joyless when it was all stars and rainbows. I wanted something that reflected who I still was: bold prints, rich colours, and things that made me smile. Little Battersea was born.

Indie - Pieces you will love

I created the Indie collection to reconnect with what made me happiest— pieces that you LOVE, designed to help you feel like yourself again while you’re doing the most important job of your life.

Swaddles are designed to be cuddled in, draped over a pram, worn as a scarf, and so much more! Each item is original, carefully made, and meant to be cherished.

Made in Portugal & 100% certified

Our collection benefits from Portugal’s deep renowned textile expertise. Our Partners are chosen blending highest quality with sustainable practices to produce luxurious, versatile essentials — certified with both OEKO-TEX and GOTS they are gentle for delicate, sensitive skin. This means our fabrics meet both the chemical safety standards of OEKO-TEX and the organic and sustainable production standards of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

Exciting future collaborations

We are delighted to unveil an expanded collection of timeless, sustainable nursery essentials. With elegance at our core, we embrace initiatives that nurture sustainability, circular fashion, and the beauty of everyday life—celebrating Parenthood and personal growth with grace.

Heritage

Rooted in Dutch and German tailoring, our story began with my great‑grandfather, Erich Schwarze, who opened a fashion studio in Amsterdam in the 1930s.

Generations

This is me, not looking at the camera obviously, 2 years old, with my great grandparents Erich and Irene.

Match made in heaven

Erich married Irene, a celebrated design talent of refined women’s wear in the 1950s. Their exacting standards, haute couture grace, and devotion to timeless silhouettes continue to shape my approach to luxury, detail, and bespoke design.
